Sustainability Consultant (Life Cycle Analyst & Circular Economy)

We are seeking to employ a Sustainability Consultant (Life Cycle Analyst (LCA) & Circular Economy) to join our team in our London or Farnborough offices.

The role

This role is responsible for providing sustainable design expertise on whole life embodied carbon assessments and circular economy statements – both new build, fit out and refurbishment projects for the public and private sector. Working in a multidiscipline environmental buildings team you will assist in providing a comprehensive design service to the company’s prestigious clients.

Working in a multi-discipline environmental buildings team you will assist in providing a comprehensive design service to the company’s prestigious clients.

Key Responsibilities

The following list provide some key responsibility but the role is not limited to the list below

Technical Expertise

  • Undertake Whole Life Carbon (WLC) Calculations for BREEAM Mat 01.
  • Undertake WLC Calculations for GLA referable schemes.
  • Prepare reports for Planning Submissions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for non technical team members and clients.
  • Present to the client and design team, to provide design expertise and impact the design regarding WLC.
  • Support calculations for Embodied Carbon, for varying projects including.

Management & Support

  • Support the wider team with project delivery, with the preparing of Green House Gas Reports, Climate Change Adaptation Sustainability statements and Compliance Statements.
  • Support the MEP design consultants, on delivering their design strategy with regards to optioneering, and Whole Life Carbon.
  • Manage own workload and feed into resource planning.
  • Support management and training of staff on lower grades.
  • Awareness of their financial spending.
  • Undertake QA of other WLC around building energy demand reduction and compliance.

General

  • Produce accurate, professionally written reports and statements with excellent English, clearly communicating your work to clients and stakeholders.
  • Make verbal presentations to clients and stakeholders on the work undertaken.
  • Liaise with design stakeholders and clients to develop a design that is innovative and affordable.
  • Contribute to internal and external design team meetings with the required level of technical understanding to help direct design decisions regarding carbon savings and appropriate roots in Circular Economy.
  • Invests in their individual training and supporting their technical development.
  • Participates in the development of junior staff.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of BREEAM, WELL & LEED.
  • Knowledge of Circular Economy.
  • Team Management Experience.
  • Member of a key organisation/ steering committee e.g. LETI/ UKGBC etc.

Qualifications

  • Educated to Masters level (or equivalent) in Engineering or the Built Environment.
  • You will have achieved or be working towards chartership status.
