Sustainability Consultant – WELL

We are seeking to employ a Sustainability Consultant - WELL to be based in our London office.

The role

This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of environmental certification in the built environment. For certification schemes, including BREEAM, WELL, and LEED. Working in a multidiscipline environmental buildings team you will assist in providing a comprehensive design service to the company’s prestigious clients.

We are keen for our sustainability consultants to have a wide range of experience, and therefore although this is a certification role, where you have experience in both certification, and another areas of sustainability such as LCA, Circular Economy, Whole Life Carbon, building physics, ESG we would be happy to hear from you. 

Key Responsibilities

The following list provide some key responsibility but the role is not limited to the list below:

Technical Expertise

  • Prepare Certification for new construction or major refurbishments from design stage through to construction. 
  • Technical expertise on WELL, BREEAM or LEED. 
  • Experience on a number of projects, at varying stages . 
  • Experience leading WELL Workshops to direct and guide the targeted certification 
  • Technical experience reviewing and commenting on WELL Evidence 
  • Experience working directly with contractors and design team members, at submission stage. Regularly providing updates to the design team. 
  • Preparing monthly summary checks.
  • Undertaking phone calls with key members of the design and contractor team to answer queries regarding certification criteria and required evidence. 
  • Undertake workshops with key members of the design team and contractor at each stage of the design and construction process.

Management & Support

  • Manage own workload and feed into resource planning. 
  • Support management and training of staff on lower grades.  
  • Awareness of their financial spending. 

General

  • Produce accurate, professionally written reports and statements with excellent English, clearly communicating your work to clients and stakeholders.
  • Make verbal presentations to clients and stakeholders on the work undertaken.
  • Liaise with design stakeholders and clients to develop a design that is innovative and affordable.
  • Contribute to internal and external design team meetings with the required level of technical understanding to help direct design decisions regarding carbon savings and appropriate roots in Circular Economy
  • Invests in their individual training and supporting their technical development.
  • Participates in the development of junior staff.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of WELL,  BREEAM & LEED.
  • Knowledge of Circular Economy.
  • Team Management Experience
  • Member of a key organisation/ steering committee e.g. LETI/ UKGBC etc.

Qualifications

  • Educated to Masters level (or equivalent) in Engineering or the Built Environment.
  • Ideally you will have achieved or be working towards chartership status.
  • WELL AP 
  • LEED Assessor  
  • BREEAM Qualified Assessor 
  • BREEAM AP (Desirable)
