2018 World Stadium Congress: Matt Kitson to present Ras Abu Aboud Stadium

Matt Kitson, Regional Director of Hilson Moran Qatar, will again be taking part in the annual World Stadium Congress, which this year is taking place at The Amsterdam Arena in the Netherlands 7-9th May.

Matt will be presenting the pioneering Ras Abu Aboud stadium, designed for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where Hilson Moran provided multi-disciplinary engineering and lead sustainability advisory services. Due for completion in 2020, the stadium has a bold and innovative design concept comprising shipping containers, which are capable of being reassembled in a new location in their entirety or built into numerous small sports and cultural venues.

Drawing on experiences working within the project delivery team, Matt Kitson will be presenting an insightful look into the stadiums unique modular and demountable concept from the engineering ‘plug & play’ design to the environmental and sustainable methods applied using the latest in digital software solutions.

Matt will also be joining the panel to debate on ‘The ultimate in Fan-X: Integrating diversity in your design’. The discussion will focus on how to engage sporting fans using the latest live communications and social media at the early design phases to get the ultimate end user experience.

Now in its 8th year, the conference showcases some of the latest and greatest stadium and arena design. There, you can meet with organising committees, sporting federations and associations, stadium owners, architects, consultants, contractors and material and solution providers from over 20 countries to discuss the delivery of the most modern stadiums, issues around legacy as well as what it takes to deliver memorable tournaments.
