Hilson Moran’s Reiss HQ project has been shortlisted for Westminster’s first People’s Choice Awards for Architecture. Hilson Moran worked with Squire and Partners on the fit-out of a new HQ for leading UK retailer Reiss, just off Oxford Street. The building was designed to function as an icon for the Reiss brand, with the flagship Reiss store on the first two floors, and above it three further storeys of offices, cutting rooms and design studios. The penultimate floor provides corporate meeting rooms and above is a penthouse flat.
The building is one of 12 shortlisted designs built in the last ten years, including the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in Kensington Gardens, the renewal of St. Martin-in-the-Fields on Trafalgar Square and the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, Aldwych.
Westminster is home to some of the country’s most famous buildings, landmarks and attractions. To recognise and celebrate design excellence across the city, Westminster decided to launch the first People’s Choice Awards. An expert panel has shortlisted 12 designs and those who live and work in the city can vote for their favourite modern building. The panel comprised of a mix of architects, developers, councillors and planners with a huge range of experience.
