The long-standing, and highly successful, relationship between IBM and Hilson Moran has resulted in the completion of over 100 projects to date, under the existing framework.
For our first commission with IBM in Denmark, Hilson Moran helped to establish the brief and design specifications for the fit out of their new office in the city of Aarhus. A highly varied, multipurpose building, the project involved 25,000 sq ft of office space across two office floors, incorporating meeting rooms, offices, and IT network rooms; plus a new data centre located at basement level, with CRAC downflow units, hot and cold aisles, and underfloor cooling distribution. Typical of projects in Denmark, the heating was provided by the local district heating system.
Our highly mobile team worked effectively internationally, frequently meeting with the landlord in Aarhus and closely monitoring the installation quality and progress.
Following the successful delivery of the scheme, our team were selected as the delivery partner to assist IBM with the consolidation of their Copenhagen portfolio. As part of the consolidation, IBM opened a new Client Centre in Holte, a progressive facility designed to fully showcase the opportunities of working with IBM.
Our engineers worked with IBM from an early stage, helping to develop the brief and attending a series of workshops with the landlord to ensure that the contractors’ proposals complied with the Employer’s Requirements. The IBM “technical rooms” on the lower ground floor included the associated data infrastructure and cabinets, and a full video conferencing suite. Following design consultancy, we were retained to monitor works on this complex site for quality of installation and compliance with IBM requirements.
Also in Copenhagen, and as a part of the consolidation project, we were involved with internal alterations at IBM’s Bellerup and Brondby buildings.
