Last night Hilson Moran welcomed 700 clients, collaborators and friends to Bankside Vaults in London for a party to celebrate our 40 years in practice.
For our fortieth anniversary year, Hilson Moran has decided to avoid retrospection and, instead, look forward to our next forty years in practice. To this end, we have produced a year of events and initiatives which look towards the next 40 years in design and construction and consider what we will be designing, how we will be designing it and what challenges and opportunities new technologies will be thrown up.
Our London party took the format of a ‘game of two halves’ celebrating both the past and the future of Hilson Moran. The first part of the evening was dedicated to looking back over our achievements since our inception in 1977. Animations produced by Wagstaffs Design described our growth from a small practice of engineers to the multidisciplinary team of 200+ that we are today, working out of 6 offices internationally.
At 8pm ‘The Switch’ was announced by the Bloco Fogo Samba drummers, who snaked their rousing drums through the party to the stage. After a short speech by our MD, Chris Plummer, the festive portion of the evening began, with music from Ronnie Scott’s Soul Crew and Bloco Fogo Samba Drummers, street food and a VR room. At this point, our animations switched to ‘the future’, where we had some fun imagining what services we might be offering in 2057 and where we might be building.
