After last year’s successful ‘Ride with the Professional’s’ Cycling Sportive, to commemorate our 40th birthday, we decided to make it an annual event. This year we worked towards creating an event that was both environmentally and socially responsible. And as a business that supports sustainability, we put this at the forefront of our minds when organising this event. We focused on having a single use plastic free event, supporting local and independent businesses and ensuring all event waste was eco-friendly. We managed to reduce our compostable waste by 83%; last year we filled three bags and this year we used only half a bag.
Running a sustainable event meant we could reduce our carbon footprint and really make steps towards making a change.
Once again we were privileged and honoured to have a number of professional riders and support staff from the Canyon|Eisberg pro team joining us for the ride. Canyon|Eisberg is a young professional British UCI Continental cycling team, who in their first season last year stormed onto the cycling stage in the UK, Europe and beyond.
