Charity
One such charity which we are proud to support is Dive Ability, a member-led scuba diving charity committed to enabling people who have disabilities or disadvantages to discover the adventurous world of scuba diving. It is a charity which is close to our hearts since Andrew Wood, one of our employees and an instructor with the charity, sadly passed away in 2014. Our sponsorship is our way of remembering Andy and his contribution to both the company and the charity that he so enthusiastically supported.
Education
As a practice we are committed to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) education and a number of our staff take time out of practice to teach in universities and schools. For example, Scarlett Franklin, one of our Sustainability consultants, embraced the role of STEM Ambassador and works to encourage young women to consider a career in engineering. As such, she mentors students, usually aged 13-17 and assists their teachers in developing a better understanding of our industry. Utilising resources developed by STEM, Scarlett has been running workshops and offering valuable career advice and guidance. Throughout the year, she regularly visits London schools to speak to students about her journey from BTEC National Diploma in Construction through to MSc to her role in the Sustainability team today.
