One such charity which we are proud to support is Dive Ability, a member-led scuba diving charity committed to enabling people who have disabilities or disadvantages to discover the adventurous world of scuba diving. It is a charity which is close to our hearts since Andrew Wood, one of our employees and an instructor with the charity, sadly passed away in 2014. Our sponsorship is our way of remembering Andy and his contribution to both the company and the charity that he so enthusiastically supported.
As a practice we are committed to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) education and a number of our staff take time out of practice to teach in universities and schools. One of our Mechanical Engineers, for example, Farai Mwashita, works to encourage young women to a career in engineering. As such, she mentors a student from Brunel University as part of WES (Women in Engineering Society) programme, which aims to support female students by helping them with CVs, interview skills and assignments. Farai also regularly visits London schools to speak to students about her journey from A-level through BEng to her role in the industry today. Farai joined Hilson Moran as part of our graduate scheme. For details of how to become part of the Hilson Moran team, please visit our Careers section.
