Hilson Moran’s Qatar office has led the MEP, Sustainability and CFD implementation at Qatar’s 2022 FIFA World Cup venue, Al Thumama Stadium. As lead engineering consultancy, Hilson Moran has worked closely with local consultants AEB and JV AlJaber Engineering Company & Tekfen Construction to help deliver the Supreme Committee’s Delivery and Legacy Vision.
Hilson Moran’s in-house capabilities and liaison with local consortiums have been essential to the design of the Al Thumama Stadium. Regional Director Matt Kitson comments on the partnerships formed: “This joint venture has enabled us to create the sustainable and environmentally progressive infrastructure that makes the Al Thumama stadium world class. Our in-house CFD and BIM services have been instrumental in the stadium’s overall design and pushed the limits in engineering in order to deliver the optimum player and spectator standards”.
Hilson Moran also advised on the stadium’s vertical transportation and acoustics. International Commercial Director Tony Morris says:
