Principal Sustainability Consultant David McKenna will be presenting ‘FIFA’s journey to its most Sustainable World Cup’ at the 2018 Qatar Green Building Conference (QGBC). The talk will give a historical look back at some of the more memorable World Cup stadiums over the years leading up to the 2022 World Cup Qatar™, which is set to be the most sustainable yet.
As the lead engineering consultants involved on arguably two of the most iconic and sustainable stadiums to date, Al Thumama and Ras Abu Aboud, David will provide insight into some of the design elements used to reduce environment impact on both projects. His talk forms part of the wider schedule for the second day of the conference themed around ‘The Russian Experience from FIFA World Cup 2018’.
This year QGBC aims to address major sustainability solutions and their impact on driving a more resilient built environment for Qatar, the Gulf region and beyond.
The conference runs from 28th-30th October 2018. To find out more and to see the full list of speakers visit: www.qatargbc.org
