Futurebuild 2019

This week Director of Sustainability, Chris Birch and Project Director Marie-Louise Schembri will both be joining the esteemed line up of industry leading speakers and presenters at Futurebuild 2019. The conference which runs from 5-7 March aims to tackle the biggest challenges impacting the built environment providing visitors with over 500 hours of invaluable structured learning sessions spread across the three days of workshops and seminars.

Past and future heroes – inspiration for a sustainable future
by New London Architecture

Wednesday 6th March, 16:30-17:40

Who inspired us in the past and who are the future heroes of a sustainable built environment? Marie-Louise Schembri will be joining a panel of speakers for the debate hosted by the New London Architecture to provide her insight into how emerging leaders can inspire the next generation and how this will impact the future of design and build. Speakers joining the debate alongside Marie-Louise include Stuart Robinson, TfL, Zohra Chiheb, LB Croydon, Simon Erridge, Bennetts Associates, Finn Williams from Public Practice and Amie Shuttleworth from Cundall.

The speed presentations will be chaired by the NLA’s Peter Murray and will be taking place in the ecobuild Conference Arena.

A Contractor & Owner Perspective – Success, Challenges & Solutions
Thursday 7th March, 10:30 – 12:45

Chris Birch Hilson Moran’s Director of Sustainability will be providing his insight as part of the panel at the ‘An Owner & Contractor Perspective’ talk, one of the ‘Knowledge Forum Workshops’. The panel discussion will be focusing on sustainable product sourcing and specification from a building owners perspective discussed by industry leading professionals from ARUP, Mott MacDonald, Skanska and Drees & Sommer.

Chaired by Henning M. Bloech, the discussion kicks off from 10.30 and takes place within the Knowledge Forum Workshops.
