Senior Acoustic Consultant

The role

We are offering an exciting opportunity to become a key member of our expanding and diverse acoustic team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects for both the built and outdoor environments, including new builds, fit-outs and refurbishments.

As a member of our acoustic team, you will work alongside an interdisciplinary group to deliver outstanding projects across sectors, including commercial fit-out, sports & leisure, master planning, and infrastructure sectors. Additionally, you will be entrusted to provide acoustic consultancy services directly to our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities

The following list highlights some key responsibilities associated with this role:

Project Delivery & Management

  • Perform detailed acoustic calculations using our calculation database and modelling software.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging technologies and best practices in acoustics.
  • Contribute to research and innovation projects that drive our business forward.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to monitor project financial performance.
  • Conduct site reviews and measurements to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Produce high-quality, concise technical acoustic reports in line with our quality assurance standards, including RIBA design reports and planning documents.

General Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, stakeholders, and external design teams.
  • Actively participate in internal and external team meetings.
  • Manage your own workload efficiently and contribute to overall resource planning.
  • Support senior team members in identifying opportunities for new projects and service lines.
  • Foster development of the wider team and assist in training junior team members.
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects.

Desirable Skills

  • Demonstrated passion for sustainable and innovative acoustic design.
  • Proven experience in providing acoustic consultancy for diverse project types.
  • Solid practical knowledge of industry standards and BREEAM / WELL certification.
  • Proficiency with acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA and EASE.
  • Ability to conduct research and evaluate new technologies and processes effectively.
  • Skills to liaise with local authorities and decision makers on acoustic matters.
  • Experience in performing noise and vibration site measurements to inform designs.
  • Strong track record of delivering high-quality technical reports (examples welcome).
  • Awareness of professional codes of conduct associated with the IOA.


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Acoustics or related field.
  • Chartership status or strong desire to achieve it.
  • Corporate membership with the IOA (MIOA).
  • Registered pre-completion tester through the ANC (desirable).
