To gain a further detailed insight in to the local site aerodynamics, computer-modelling techniques are applied using Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD). This technique is an effective alternative to physical wind tunnel testing for normal environmental wind macroclimate behaviour. |

These computer modelling studies are performed using the predominant wind directions and provide design information on surface pressure variations and overall wind flow patterns.
The results from these studies can be used to fine tune the building shape, to optimise positions of mechanical supply and extract points and to pin point positions of aperture openings that may be considered for natural ventilation. |
