SPOTLIGHT PROJECTS
| VERTU, CHURCH CROOKHAM (NOKIA) |
 |
The Vertu development comprises a two-storey office and production building linked by a glass atrium entrance referred to as The Street.
The office space, which is 3,210 square metres, accommodates administrative and human resources staff while light industrial assembly of mobile phones is undertaken in the 2,070 square metres production facility.
The design allows for Phases 2 and 3 to be undertaken at a later date which would increase the office accommodation to 8,850 square metres and the production facility to 5,727 square metres.
The office building is air conditioned by means of four-pipe fan coil units served by air-cooled chillers with the majority of plant being located at roof level. At ground floor level there is a Restaurant and Kitchen which are served by a dedicated mechanical ventilation system with cooling and heating. These offices are also served with power, lighting, data systems, fire alarms, public health services, lifts, fire mains, lightning protection and security systems.
In the Production Building the space is conditioned by close control units which supply air to the area via exposed high-level circular ductwork. Other services include toilet ventilation systems, public health services, power, lighting, compressed air, data systems, fire suppression and alarm, lightning protection and security installation.
The Street is heated and cooled by underfloor chilled water and low pressure hot water pipework system.
The Architect for the Scheme was Sheppard Robson.
