SPOTLIGHT PROJECTS
| 14 PIER WALK, GREENWICH PENINSULA |
 |
14 Pier Walk is the flagship commercial development leading the prestigious Peninsula Central business district. Designed by Terry Farrell and Partners, with sustainability consultancy and building services engineering design by Hilson Moran, this high end office building sets new benchmarks for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The project is a seven-storey, 18,000m² commercial building, which has been pre-let to Transport for London, and is configured around twin glazed atrium cores enclosed by a central ETFE canopy.
It is the first of a pair of buildings. The second, 6 Mitre Passage, is a 12-storey, 10,000m² commercial building, which is scheduled for completion this autumn.
Both buildings have been awarded an ‘Excellent’ rating under the BREEAM offices scheme.
Hilson Moran's building services strategy focused on flexibility, providing a solution to meet individual tenancy’s business needs and comfort requirements while delivering outstanding energy performance. A three-point energy strategy drove the design of the building envelope and engineering of the building services system, substantially reducing the development’s carbon footprint.
These first two buildings are a testament to the environmental sustainability commitments and aspirations of Greenwich Peninsula Regeneration Limited (a joint venture between Lend Lease and Quintain) and TfL.
