SPOTLIGHT PROJECTS
| 150 CHEAPSIDE, LONDON |
 |
150 Cheapside is a striking new office development in the City of London, with 17,000m² of office space on eight floors, a roof terrace and 2,000m² of retail in separate units at ground level.
The building’s sleek, contemporary glass-clad design incorporates high-efficiency facades with horizontal and vertical solar shading, and an externally-ventilated triple façade on the southern aspect. This energy efficient approach is carried through into the building services design and photovoltaic cell installation.
The building achieved an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating, one of the first to be awarded under the 2005 guidelines.
A 760m² extensive sedum roof, augmented with a variety of wildflowers and bird and bat boxes, has increased the ecological value of the development.
Hilson Moran provided building services, vertical transportation and sustainability consultancy on the project, including policy, façade, ecology and low and zero carbon technology advice, as well as undertaking the BREEAM assessment. The project completed in March 2009.
